IND vs PAK

On Sunday, the 2024 T20 World Cup's second week begins with a historic clash; India vs Pakistan. Here's everything you need to know ahead of the game in New York.

Preview

Group A was billed as a relatively predictable one, with India and Pakistan expected to go through to the Super Eights ahead of Ireland, Canada and USA. India started the tournament well, bowling Ireland out for 96 before chasing the target down with relative ease on a tricky New York deck. Big pluses from that match were Hardik Pandya's bowling and the batting of Rishabh Pant. They will be looking to pick up where they left off.

Pakistan, however, began their campaign in disappointing fashion. Taking on USA in Dallas, they were outplayed for close to 35 overs before pulling the game back to force a Super Over, which they eventually lost. It now means the game against India is virtually a must-win fixture, a situation they would have wanted to avoid. Batting has been a concern for them of late, with no quick fix available. However, the potential return of all-rounder Imad Wasim from injury could give them a boost.
