Qualification scenario – Bangladesh
A win, or even a washout, against Nepal will see Bangladesh through. Even if Nepal win by a narrow margin, Bangladesh should be fine unless the Netherlands absolutely thrash Sri Lanka.
Qualification scenario – Netherlands
Assuming Bangladesh lose – and lose massively, the Netherlands have to beat Sri Lanka by a truly colossal margin to qualify. Of course, the Dutch play after Bangladesh, which will give them an advantage, but their qualification seems, at best, only mathematically possible.
Scenario – Nepal and Sri Lanka
Nepal put up a stellar show in their heartbreaking defeat against South Africa. If they do better than Sri Lanka in their respective last games, they will avoid a last-place finish. Sri Lanka’s task is slightly more difficult: they will either have to get more points than Nepal or, failing that, pip Nepal on net run rate.
