Liam Livingstone took to the field for England’s T20 World Cup semi-final against India wearing a black armband. He did so in memory of his grandfather, who has passed away.

The all-rounder put in an economical performance with the ball, restricting India to 24 runs in four overs of off and leg-breaks. Introduced immediately after a short rain break - the match had earlier been delayed by over an hour - he conceded just two boundaries, even bowling towards the end of the innings in the 15th and 17th overs.

Livingstone has impressed with bat and ball at the 2024 T20 World Cup, also conceding a run a ball against USA and playing fast cameos against South Africa and Namibia. He had played 27 T20Is for England before today, averaging just under 25 with the bat and striking at over 150. He had also taken 24 wickets, conceding 8.54 runs per over.
