What happens if the IND vs SA match is rained out?

Who gets the trophy if there's a washout?

It's simple. If the match is abandoned, or there is no result, even after a reserve day, India and South Africa will be declared joint winners. A maximum of 190 minutes of extra time has been allocated for the final, as well as the reserve day.

What if the match is tied?

If the India v South Africa game is tied, a Super Over will commence to decide the winner. If the first Super Over is a tie, subsequent Super Overs will be played until a result in obtained. There will be an unlimited number of Super Overs until a result is achieved.

The changeover period of five minutes for a Super Over after the main match will not be taken into account when applying any permitted extra time available.

When does a reserve day come into effect?

The final, on June 29, has a reserve day allocated, on June 30. On reserve day allocation, the ICC playing conditions state that "every effort will be made to complete the match on the scheduled day with any necessary reduction in overs taking place and only if the minimum number of overs necessary to constitute a match cannot be bowled on the scheduled day will the match be completed on the reserve day".

As was the case for both the semi-finals, to constitute a match in the final, a minimum of 10 overs have to be bowled to the side batting second, subject to a result not being achieved earlier.

If the match has started on the scheduled day and overs are subsequently reduced following an interruption, but no further play is possible, the match will resume on the reserve day at the point where the last ball was played.

The start time for the reserve day is 10.30am local time on June 30.
