England's group stage campaign was impacted by the weather, and the threat of rain isn't yet over for the Super Eights, with showers possible for their first game against West Indies, according to forecasts.
Two of England's group games were affected by weather, with their opening fixture against Scotland unable to be completed and their match against Namibia significantly delayed. West Indies finished top of their group and are so far undefeated in the tournament.
While England have yet to play in St Lucia, West Indies played their final group match at the Daren Sammy Stadium against Afghanistan. They scored 218-5 batting first and bowled Afghanistan out for 114. Nicholas Pooran scored 98 off 53 balls, with Johnson Charles also contributing 43 off 27 with the bat.
Weather forecast for ENG v WI
There is a small chance of rain interrupting the fixture, which is due to start at 8:30pm local time. Google weather forecast estimates the chances of rain at the beginning of the fixture at 18 per cent, rising to 30 per cent by the end of the game.
BBC Weather shows a slightly increased chance of rain for the match. It predicts a 38 per cent chance of rain by 9pm local time, but shows that there should be enough dry spells to complete the game.
Accuweather is the most negative of the foecasts, predicting a 57 per cent chance of rain by 10pm. It puts humidity in the high 70 per cents but does specify that the showers should be light and not thundery as the storms which have interupted the tournament until now have been.
