The last two T20 World Cup winners – England (2022) and Australia (2021) – take on each other in a key Group B game. They're in a group led by Scotland (three points from two games), sharing a point with England after their washout at the same venue. Australia were tested by Oman but they prevailed, and currently have a net run-rate of +1.950.
Fourteen years ago, the same two teams clashed at the same venue in the same tournament, albeit for the final. David Warner is the sole survivor from that fixture, and comes on the back of a sluggish fifty against Oman. Pat Cummins was rested against Oman, and is set to return. Mitchell Starc, who left the field with a cramp in the last game, is likely to be fit to play. Captain Mitchell Marsh is still likely to stay away from bowling
For England, the composition may remain the same for the most part, with the possibility of making a rotation change to the pace attack. Bringing in Reece Topley for Mark Wood could be a possibility.
