The Super Eights stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup is set to come to an exciting conclusion as Bangladesh and Afghanistan face off with a semifinal spot at stake in the last match of the round - Here's the latest rain prediction for the crunch game which will also decide the fate of Australia.
Afghanistan put in some stellar performances in the group stage, winning their first three matches before coming unstuck against a powerful West Indies side. They began the Super Eights with a loss to India, but bounced back in spectacular fashion, beating Australia to give them a genuine shot at making the semi-finals of a major ICC tournament for the first time ever.
Bangladesh, meanwhile, have endured a difficult campaign. They had their moments in the group stage and managed to make it through to the Super Eights but suffered convincing defeats to both Australia and India. Bangladesh are still in with a mathematical chance of qualifying for the semi-finals, but it will take some effort from them to do so.
Afghanistan-Bangladesh Super Eights match: Latest weather updates
A washout tomorrow will also see Afghanistan through. And looking at the forecast for the evening game in Kingstown, there should be some (or maybe a lot) of rain post sunset, when AFG v BAN is supposed to begin. 🌧️ pic.twitter.com/KqCBlWDj5y

What is the St. Vincent weather forecast for Afghanistan-Bangladesh?
Accuweather forecasts the chance of rain in Kingstown to be 31 percent at 8:00pm, 30 minutes before the start of play. This goes up to 37 percent by 9:00pm and 51% by 10:00pm.
BBC Weather has a slightly different prediction, saying 48 percent chance of rain at 8:00pm, which comes down to 22 percent by 10:00pm.
It is entirely possible, therefore, that even if the match is not washed out it could well be interrupted multiple times.
What happens if Afghanistan-Bangladesh is washed out?
Afghanistan would take a point from this match if it is washed out, and thanks to India's win over Australia earlier today, set up a semi-final with South Africa. This does no good for Bangladesh, who will be knocked out in the case of a washout.
Currently, a win for Afghanistan or no result in the match sends them through to the semi-finals. If Bangladesh win by 62 runs or chase down Afghanistan's total in 13 overs, they will improve their net run rate enough to overtake Australia and Afghanistan, and qualify for the semi-finals. If they win, but not by these margins, Australia will qualify instead.
