Six referees and 20 umpires
A total of 20 umpires and six match referees will conduct the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup,jointly hosted by the USA and the West Indies. The tournament will see 20 teams competing across 55 matches at nine venues, making it the largest T20 World Cup to date.
The teams have been drawn into four groups of five each, with India drawn alongside Pakistan, Ireland, USA and Canada.
England will play Australia, Namibia, Scotland and Oman, with West Indies drawn alongside New Zealand, Afghanistan, PNG and Uganda.
The fourth group has South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Netherlands along with Nepal.

The Elite panel of umpires comprises Richard Illingworth, 2023 winner of the David Shepherd Trophy for Best Umpire of the Year. Kumar Dharmasena, Chris Gaffaney and Paul Reiffel, who all officiated the final of the previous edition’s final in 2022 in Melbourne, have been included.
The match referees’ team includes the experienced duo of Jeff Crowe and Andrew Pycroft. Crowe has officiated in a record 175 T20Is, while Pycroft is one match away from achieving the milestone of 150 T20Is. Apart from them, Ranjan Madugalle, who was part of the 2022 final, features in the list alongside David Boon, Richie Richardson and Javagal Srinath.
