Watch: Suryakumar Yadav struck an audacious 61 not out off 25 balls as he lifted India to a total of 186-5 against Zimbabwe.
It was a record-breaking innings by Suryakumar who went to 1,000 T20I runs for the year during his 25-ball knock, only the second batter to do so in a calendar year, and the first from India.
Suryakumar reached his half-century in just 23 balls, his third score of fifty or more this World Cup from just five innings. In total, he has scored 225 runs at this World Cup at an average of 75 and a strike-rate of 193.96.
His innings here at the MCG contained six fours and four sixes, including several remarkable scoops, sweeps and even a six over extra cover.
Suryakumar, however, arguably saved his best for last as on the final ball of the India innings he scooped a low full-toss from far outside off-stump, over fine leg for six. It was a remarkable shot that sent the 80,000 strong MCG crowd wild.
