Watch: Suryakumar Yadav provided an array of glittering strokes in his latest T20 masterclass for India against Zimbabwe, and while the majority of his runs came behind square on the leg-side, his one foray into the off-side was special.

The shot, a sumptuous loft over extra cover, brought up 1,000 runs in 2022 for Suryakumar in T20Is.

The stroke came on the final ball of the 18th over, bowled by Tendai Chatara. He bowled full outside off to Suryakumar, with the No.4 launching the delivery high and handsome over the off-side and into the stands.

His bat and elbow finished way above his head, with Suryakumar holding the pose and hopping onto his back foot as he appreciated the stroke.

Suryakumar is the second batter in history to cross four figures in T20Is in a calendar year, with Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan the first in 2021.
