Watch: Iftikhar Ahmed smashed four sixes in six balls in a game-changing blitz, taking down India’s spin pair to give Pakistan a much-needed boost in their T20 World Cup clash at the MCG.

A stunning opening burst from Arshdeep Singh had given India the upper hand in the much-hyped contest, and while Shan Masood and Iftikhar had helped to stall the slide, Pakistan were struggling to score freely.

However, with 63 off 64 balls on the board, Iftikhar flicked the switch. First, R Ashwin was launched over long-on before a single kept him on strike. Then Axar Patel was taken for three sixes in four balls. The first was slog-swept over the leg-side, the second was pumped 97 metres back down the ground and the third was just out of reach of KL Rahul at long-off, who leapt spectacularly but was unable to keep the ball in play.

A chopped three past point brought up Iftikhar’s half-century, and though he fell two balls later, Pakistan had been hauled back into contention.
