Fan footage of the dramatic final ball from Pakistan’s last gasp defeat to Zimbabwe has cast further doubt on Shaheen Afridi’s fitness at the T20 World Cup.
Pakistan’s talismanic speedster was out of action in the build up to the tournament with a knee injury and was both down on pace and not moving like his usual self in the field during the Zimbabwe innings, though he did finish with more than respectable figures of 0-29 from his four overs.
New fan footage that shows Afridi attempting to scamper two runs from the game’s final over has increased the scrutiny on the state of the fast bowler’s fitness.
The footage, shot with Afridi in view throughout, sees the Pakistan quick run gingerly and short of full pace as he desperately sought to make his ground to force the game to a Super Over.
