Watch: David Miller smashed R Ashwin for one of the biggest sixes of the T20 World Cup, launching him 104 metres in a crucial half-century to help South Africa overcome India at Perth.

Miller came to the crease with South Africa 24-3, and took his time to get settled. At the halfway stage of the chase, the Proteas were 40-3, needing nearly 10 runs per over. They switched gears in the second half, with Miller moving from 16 off 25 to end up unbeaten on 59 off 46, with 43 runs coming off his last 21 balls.

Miller hit a pair of decisive blows off the off-spinner in the 18th over, with two consecutive maximums reducing the equation to under a run a ball required. But it was his first six off Ashwin that really stood out, getting him going to extraordinary effect. Clearing his front leg and striking over long-off, the ball sailed into the stands, with the hit recorded at 104 metres.

Miller sealed the game with two boundaries in two balls, continuing an excellent run of form batting second. In 2022, he averages 89.66 and strikes at 165.03 when chasing.
