Watch: Shaheen Shah Afridi blitzed 16 off eight balls in a vital lower-order cameo for Pakistan, including smashing six and four off consecutive Arshdeep Singh deliveries.
Arshdeep had had a Shaheen-like impact with the new ball, seeing off both of Pakistan’s openers in a sensational new-ball spell, but it was Shaheen who came out on top as the left armers faced off at the death.
The highlight of his short and sharp innings was a massive leg-side six, with Shaheen giving himself plenty of room before carting his counterpart over the rope. The hit was measured at 92 metres.
One ball later, Shaheen drove Arshdeep back down the ground, and though he was out not long after, he had done his job, helping Pakistan up to a defendable 159-8.
