Pakistan will look to keep their slim hopes of semi final qualification alive on Thursday, November 3 when they take on South Africa at the SCG in the Group 2 of the T20 World Cup Super 12 – here’s where to watch the match live on TV channels and live streaming.
Babar Azam’s team registered their first win of the tournament against the Netherlands after consecutive losses to India and Zimbabwe derailed their campaign. Their two thrilling last-over defeats drew criticism to Pakistan’s batting lineup, with Babar and Mohammad Rizwan not in the form their fans have been accustomed to over the last 18 months. Nevertheless, they a comfortable win against the Netherlands by six wickets, bowling the Dutch side out for less than 100 will have settled Pakistan’s frenetic start to the tournament.
While it is an unlikely prospect, Pakistan do still have a route to semi-final qualification but must win both of their remaining games and hope that South Africa lose their final match against the Netherlands.
South Africa will be hoping to build on the momentum they have created after beating Group leaders India in Perth at the weekend. The Proteas bowling attack looked at its fearsome best in the fixture, with Wayne Parnell taking 3-15 and Lungi Ngidi cleaning up with 4-29. After a tricky start to the tournament with a wash-out against Zimbabwe limiting their points scoring options, South Africa have quickly established themselves as serious trophy contenders. Rilee Rossouw’s hundred against Bangladesh along with Quinton de Kock and David Miller’s form makes them a daunting prospect for a side to face.
However, questions remain over captain Temba Bavuma’s place in the side. He has a top score of ten from his last eight innings, with a strike rate of 52.38.
