England will take on Ireland in their second match of the 2022 T20 World Cup — here’s where you can watch ENG vs IRE, including live streaming and TV details.
Jos Buttler’s team had to chase 113 against Afghanistan in their opener, a target they eventually got to with five wickets and 11 balls to spare. The star of the game was Sam Curran, who picked up 5-10 in only 3.4 overs, also becoming the first bowler from the country to pick up a five-for in a men’s T20I match.
Curran was aided by Ben Stokes and Mark Wood, who picked up two wickets apiece as they had less than run-a-ball to chase for their first win.
The Afghanistan spinners, however, ensured that they did not run through with the innings. In the end, though, they would have hoped for at least 30 more runs.
Ireland, on the other hand, fought through Round 1 to reach the Super 12. After losing to Zimbabwe, the team bounced back strongly, winning their next two clashes, against Scotland and West Indies. The two-time champions Windies bowed out in a do-or-die clash, as Ireland chased down the target with nine wickets in hand.
However, they started off the second round with a loss against Sri Lanka and will be hopeful of living up to their billing and staging another upset.
