Rizwan reacted in pain after the sharp delivery struck him on the fingers, immediately removing his glove and shaking his hand. He skipped away from the crease before looking at his mandibles and receiving medical attention. Shaheen and several of Rizwan’s teammates then inspected the damage.
While such blows might be worrying for Rizwan, the form of Shaheen will be encouraging. He claimed 12 wickets in six games in the National T20 Cup – only one player claimed more – and his ability to rattle the best in the business will be key to Pakistan’s T20 World Cup campaign, which begins on October 24 against India.
