It was the third time that a player had taken four wickets in four balls in international T20 cricket after Lasith Malinga and Rashid Khan had also previously achieved the feat.

The wickets fell in a single over as Campher, who had only taken three wickets in his T20I career before today, reduced Netherlands from 51-2 to 51-6.

The first wicket had to be reviewed after Netherlands’ Colin Ackermann had been given not out when the ball had clipped his glove on the way through to Ireland’s wicketkeeper Neil Rock.

The following two wickets were almost identical as Campher trapped both Ryan ten Doeschate and Scott Edwards LBW with full deliveries. Ten Doeschate was given out on the field, however, Edwards was given out on a review to give Campher his hat-trick.

Roelof van der Merwe was the next man in and played on to a wide delivery, putting Campher into the record books and Ireland firmly in front in the game.

The Netherlands finished their innings on 106, losing their final three wickets off the last three balls of the 20th over.

The total was always going to be a long way below par with the Abu Dhabi pitch playing well and Ireland chased down the total with ease for the loss of only three wickets and with almost five overs to spare. Gareth Delaney top scored with 44 off 29 balls before Campher himself hit the winning runs to round off a fantastic day for the Irish.
