Naveen sent down an angled delivery on the third ball of the fifth over with batter Matthew Cross getting a thick outside edge. The ball seemed to be headed for a four but wicketkeeper Shahzad dived full length to his right to complete a one-handed stunner, leaving everyone, including the rival camp, in awe. Acknowledging the greatness of the catch Shahzad held his arms aloft in celebration before embracing his jubilant teammates, even as the commentators on air quipped, “Shahzad, we’ll talk about that for a long time.’

Afghanistan completed a massive win over Scotland to begin their T20 World Cup campaign on a high. After posting 190-4 in their 20 overs, the Afghanistan spinners wreaked havoc with Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan sharing nine wickets between them, to dismiss Scotland for only 60. The 130-run win meant that their NRR now stands at an impressive +6.50.
