The grab helped turn the clash into one of the games in the tournament so far, leaving Pakistan, flying high after downing India in their first game, wobbling on 63-3 with nine overs to bat and 72 runs needed to win.
Mohammad Hafeez was the batter on the receiving end of Conway’s brilliance. The experienced Pakistan No.4 looked to smash Mitchell Santner into the off-side and almost succeeded, but Conway, stationed at long off, sprinted around the boundary, diving the cling on to the implausible chance at full stretch.
Pakistan were still able to emerge victorious, but Conway had given New Zealand fans something to savour.
