Papua New Guinea will be making a debut in the T20 World Cup. They are a fairly young side, having made their ODI debut in 2014. They made their T20I debut in 2015. While they might not be as experienced as some of their opponents, they can still be a dangerous prospect. This is shown by the fact that they have won their first full encounter in each format.

For the T20 World Cup 2021, they will be led by Assad Vala.

Papua New Guinea squad will have to go through the qualifying round to make it to the main stage of the tournament. They are placed in Group B, and will face-off against Oman on October 17. Other sides in the group are Bangladesh and Scotland.
