Netherlands made their first appearance in 2009, qualifying for the tournament in 2014 and 2016. In all, they have won five out of 12 games in the competition, with their best result being a Super 10 finish in 2014.

This year, they will feature alongside Ireland, Namibia and Sri Lanka in Group A of the first round. You can check the complete schedule and list of fixtures for all teams in the tournament here.

T20 World Cup 2021: Netherlands squad news

The team will be led by Pieter Seelaar, who also captained them to one of the six slots in the T20 World Cup Qualifier in 2019. The side has a good mix of experience and youth, including 41-year-old Ryan ten Doeschate, who made his international debut back in 2001 and will retire from professional cricket at the end of 2021.

Other experienced players include Roelof van der Merwe, Ben Cooper and Colin Ackermann. The team includes two travelling reserves in Tobias Visee and Shane Snater.

Ahead of the start of the first round, the side played Scotland and Oman as part of the tournament’s official warm-up fixtures.
