This will be the seventh appearance of Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup. Of the 25 games played in the T20 World Cups, Bangladesh have won only five encounters.
The Tigers will thus walk in with a point to prove in this tournament. The squad will be led by Mahmudullah, while also featuring veterans like Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Soumya Sarkar, and Mushfiqur Rahim.
Bangladesh were a part of the qualifying round of the T20 WC. They were placed in Group B, along with Scotland, Papua New Guinea, and Oman. They lost their opening encounter against Scotland, but managed to make it to Group 1 of the T20 World Cup.

T20 WC 2021: Bangladesh squad news and updates
Bangladeshi opener Tamim Iqbal had opted out of the T20 World Cup squad, stating that he didn’t want to take place of youngsters who had been opening regularly in the format. The side has a mix of experience and young blood, with Shamim Hossain and Shoriful Islam, representing the younger generation.
The all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin picked up a back injury during the group stage of the T20 World Cup. He was replaced by the fast bowler Rubel Hossain. On October 31, Shakib Al Hasan was ruled out of the remaining league stage matches due to a hamstring injury. No replacement has been named.
