India went out all guns blazing while chasing the 192-run target set by Pakistan. Rohit was the wrecker in chief, taking the tourists to the cleaners. He teed off from the word go, pulling strike-bowler Shaheen Afridi for a six in his trademark style.

Express pacer Haris Rauf couldn’t avoid the wrath of the Indian skipper. Coming to bowl the eighth over, Rauf got the same harsh treatment as his peers. He landed the second ball on a length while pitching it on the off-stump. Rohit shimmied down the wicket and hit Rauf for a six over mid-on with disdain. The maximum marked the 300th ODI six for the India batter.

Later, Rohit capped off the over with another marvellous hit. He picked a slower one from Rauf and sliced it over covers for a 90m six. He brought up a blistering fifty off just 36 balls. During his previous outing versus Afghanistan, he smashed a ton off just 63 balls to become the leading run-scorer and century-maker (7) in the World Cup. India brought up their hundred in the last ball of the 14th over.

Earlier, Pakistan collapsed from 155-2 in 29.3 overs to 191 all-out, thanks to an all-round bowling performance from India. Five bowlers picked two wickets each. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the lot with figures of 7-19-2.
