Australia were chasing a daunting target of 292 runs, the highest ever in Wankhede, to stay in the hunt for a semi-final berth. Things didn’t pan out as expected for the five-time world champions as they lost Travis Head cheaply in just the second over of the run-chase.

Tensions flared up after the end of the fourth over as Warner, while returning to his crease, was seen engaging in a war of words with his former IPL teammate Rashid. Although Rashid looked like taking the banter sportingly right from the outset, Warner was visibly agitated.

Finally, the situation was diffused with a smiling Rashid walking back and the fuming southpaw batter returning to take his guard. Australia slipped to 91-7 in the blink of an eye, and a recovery from here on looks highly improbable for them.
