India were off to a roaring start after being asked to bat first, thanks to Rohit Sharma for his quickfire 47 runs off 31 deliveries. However, from 76-1, they lost wickets in clusters and were reduced to 81-3 in just 10.2 overs.

In a period of consolidation, Virat Kohli and Rahul got together to resurrect India’s innings, with India managing just 54 runs off the following 96 balls. Although the duo was rotating the strike, a boundary was difficult to find.

While facing Maxwell on the second ball of the 27th over, Rahul ended the drought as he went low to play a paddle sweep, hitting the ball past keeper Josh Inglis. The ball raced to the boundary through fine leg as India got their first four after a 97-ball barren phase.
