Watch: Jofra Archer went ambidextrous as he sent down some useful left-arm pace in the Sussex nets on August 18.

That same build-up in the run-up, same high-release point, with the only difference being Jofra Archer was bowling left-arm quick.

Archer ran in with his slippers on and pitched the ball on a good length. Despite changing his usual bowling arm, he was able to extract good bounce.

The batter tried to cope with the lift by playing a leg-side push. His bottom hand came off the bat as a result, a testament to the spice in the delivery.

Archer, England’s highest wicket-taker (20) in their triumphant 2019 ODI World Cup campaign, missed the provisional squad for the 2023 edition in India. Recurring injuries with the latest being a stress fracture suffered during IPL 2023, pushed him to the sidelines. However, national selector Luke Wright clarified that he is likely to get a spot in the reserves and might play in the later half of the showpiece event in case there is an injury.
