The ICC World Cup 2023 schedule will be announced during the World Test Championship final, as told by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah to reporters.
The update was given at the end of the BCCI’s Special General Meeting at a hotel in Ahmedabad, a day ahead of the IPL 2023 final in the city.
The WTC 2021-23 final will be played between India and Australia from June 7 to 11, 2023. The announcement is expected to be made at a press conference in London around the final.
ICC World Cup 2023: The details so far
- All metro cities are being looked at as venues. According to an ESPNcricinfo report, there will be a total of 48 matches, to be held in at least 13 cities around India.
- According to the same report, the ten-team World Cup is supposed to run from October 5 to November 19.
- Ahead of the World Cup, a total of 15 stadiums around the country are set to be upgraded, with Grant Thorton being hired to help with the improvement.

- Asia Cup 2023 update: The future of the Asia Cup 2023 will be decided once after a meeting with the ACC members (Test-playing nations) and Associate nations.
- Committees to handle the ICC World Cup 2023 and the Women’s Premier League will be announced soon.
- The scheduled India v Afghanistan series will happen, but the fixtures haven’t been finalised. It will be held this year after the WTC final and most likely before the World Cup.
- A window for the Women’s Premier League will be decided based on discussions with the broadcasters.
- The position of Women’s head coach has been advertised, and applications have been coming in. A shortlist has been decided.
- To manage injuries better, each state will appoint Strength & Conditioning and Sports & Science Medicine team, who will be interviewed by the NCA panel.
