Ten teams will participate in the 2023 World Cup. India qualified as hosts; seven teams based on ODI Super League rankings; and the two others through the World Cup Qualifier held in Zimbabwe earlier this year.
India will host the ODI World Cup for the fourth time after 1987, 1996, and 2011, though this will be the first time they will do it on their own.
World Cup 2023: What is the format?
Like the 1992 and 2019 editions, the ten teams will play each other in round-robin format. The top four will qualify for the semi-finals, which will be held in Mumbai and Kolkata, while the final will be held in Ahmedabad on November 19.
