The team was bound to have a practice session at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium today (October 17) from 6pm to 9 pm local time, the timing for which has now been cut short to 8 pm.
Ahsan Iftikhar Nagi, Pakistan’s media manager, told Wisden.com, “Some players got fever in the past few days and most of them have fully recovered from it. Those who are in the stage of recovery remain under the team medical panel’s observation. Pakistan will train at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium today from 6-8pm.”
Pakistan made a strong start to their World Cup campaign in Hyderabad, winning their first two matches against Netherlands and Sri Lanka. However, they were comprehensively beaten by India in Ahmedabad on October 14.
The team would be hoping that the recovery is soon complete and that all players are fit and available for the Australia game on October 20 in Bengaluru. Currently, they are sitting on the fourth spot at the World Cup points tablewith four points from three games.
