India captain Virat Kohli has been fined 25 per cent of his match fee for advancing towards umpire Aleem Dar in an aggressive manner.
The incident occurred when Kohli was appealing for an lbw decision in India’s hard-fought win over Afghanistan on Saturday.
The batsman also received one demerit point to his record, taking his tally to two after receiving his first in January 2018 during India’s Test match against South Africa in Pretoria.

He was found guilty of breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct in Southampton and Article 2.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “Excessive appealing during an international match”.
However, there was no need for a formal hearing as Kohli accepted the sanction from match referee Chris Broad.
