Jofra Archer has not been included in England’s preliminary World Cup squad.
However, the highly rated youngster has earned a maiden call-up for England’s five-match ODI series against Pakistan and for the one-off ODI and T20I against Ireland and Pakistan which precede it. He and fellow Barbados-born all-rounder Chris Jordan will form part of the squads for both series.
Sam Billings and James Vince also feature as part of the squad for the Ireland ODI and Pakistan T20I, with Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler – all of whom are playing in the IPL – rested for those games, and Chris Woakes also left out.

There is no place in any squad for Liam Dawson, with Joe Denly’s part-time leg-spin preferred to his left-arm finger-spin.
Archer was offered a World Cup life-line with it confirmed that England would finalise their World Cup squad after the Pakistan series. They will name their final 15 on May 22, the day before the May 23 deadline.
