England skipper Eoin Morgan is still set to take part in England’s opening ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match against South Africa at the Oval this week.
Speaking to Sky Sports this morning ahead of England’s warm-up match against Afghanistan, team-mate James Vince said Morgan is “likely to have a bat today” and has been batting in the nets during the build-up to the match. He is unlikely to take to the field, however.
Morgan’s availability was previously in doubt due to a crocked finger, which ruled him out of England’s warm-up match against Australia.

Speedster Mark Wood, who suffered an injury scare of his own against Australia on Saturday, misses out today but should be fit to feature against South Africa in the World Cup’s opening fixture.
