Trevor Bayliss has confirmed that Jos Buttler has recovered from the hip injury he sustained in England’s win over Bangladesh on Saturday.

The England coach is “fully expecting him to play a full part” against the West Indies on Friday, and says Buttler’s absence from wicketkeeping duties against The Tigers was just a precaution.

“He could’ve kept in the last game but wasn’t really sure whether he would’ve been able to sprint after a high catch,” Bayliss told Sky Sports.

Buttler has made an excellent start to his World Cup campaign, scoring 103 against Pakistan and 64 against Bangladesh.

England take on the West Indies at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton from 10:30am on Friday.
