Virat Kohli hundred

Watch: Virat Kohli reached his hundred with the final shot of the India vs Pakistan match in the 2025 Champions Trophy in Dubai.

Chasing 242, India never really looked in trouble despite the occasional wickets. Rohit Sharma (20 off 15) gave a brisk start, Shubman Gill (46 off 52) played a steady hand before he was undone by an Abrar Ahmed beauty, and Shreyas Iyer (56 off 67) provided stability to the second half of the chase.

The glue to all these contributions, however, was Virat Kohli's. Coming in at 31-1 at the end of the fifth over, Kohli was full of intent from the start. He reached his fifty in the 27th over off 62 balls. As the target approached, a familiar sitiuation played out - Kohli was running out of runs left to complete his hundred.

The last over of the match - the 43rd - started with India needing four runs for victory and Kohli needing five runs for his 82nd hundred. Kohli took a single first ball off Khushdil Shah before Axar Patel turned the strike over as well, taking another single. Kohli then jumped out of the track and smashed a back of length ball through the covers to reach his hundred and finish the match with the same shot, much to the joy of fans and the Indian dressing room.

This was Kohli's fourth ODI hundred against Pakistan and his first since the 2023 ODI World Cup semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
