Against Pakistan in Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday (February 23), Kuldeep Yadav became the 13th India bowler to take 300 international wickets.
Kuldeep achieved the feat off the fourth ball of the 42nd over of Pakistan's innings when he foxed Salman Agha with a loopy delivery, having the batter caught at point off a miscued hit. Next, he pinned Shaheen Afridi lbw with a googly off the very next ball to pick up two wickets in two deliveries. Naseem Shah safely played the sixth ball to deny him his third ODI hat-trick.
The left-arm wrist spinner took another wicket in the 47th over after dismissing Shah for 14, taking his tally to 302, 12th on the list of most men's international wicket-takers among Indians. He edged past former all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who previously held the spot with 301 wickets.
Kuldeep became the 13th India bowler to breach the 300 international wickets club. Interestingly, four out of the top five bowlers on the list are spinners.
Anil Kumble heads the chart with his 953 wickets, followed by R Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh’s tally of 765 and 707 wickets, respectively. Kapil Dev, the only fast bowler in the top five, sits fourth for his 687 international wickets and is trailed by Ravindra Jadeja (604).
