South Africa and England are set to face off in a Group B encounter in the Champions Trophy in Karachi today (March 1) - here’s the predicted weather forecast for the clash.
The Champions Trophy has already seen several rain-affected games, with the most recent game in the tournament, between Australia and Afghanistan, getting washed out as well. Australia were 109-1 in 12.5 overs chasing 274 in the virtual quarter-final before heavy rain lashed Lahore, leading to the third washout of the tournament.
The upcoming South Africa-England game is also of immense significance. While the Proteas have all but sealed their place in the semi-final, even a No Result would see them topple Australia on Net Run Rate and end as the highest-placed team from the group. It could be significant as it would determine whether they play their semi-final clash in Pakistan or travel to Dubai to face India.
South Africa won the only game in this Champions Trophy, defeating Afghanistan by 107 runs for a huge Net Run Rate swing. Their next game against Australia was abandoned due to rain.
England, on the other hand, were the first team from the group to be eliminated after losses to Australia and Afghanistan, following which Jos Buttler stepped down as skipper.

According to Google Weather, there is a zero per cent chance of precipitation throughout the day. The maximum temperature in Karachi will hover around 28 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will fall to 18 degrees.
