Watch: Rumman Raees held the pose in celebration after bowling James Vince through the gate in the first over of Islamabad United’s opening match of the 2023 Pakistan Super League.
After bowling two dot balls to Sharjeel Khan to start the Karachi Kings’ innings at the National Stadium, Raees conceded a single to bring Vince on strike for the remainder of the over.
Aggressive straight away, Vince picked up a good-looking boundary off Raees from his first ball of the innings – playing an attractive drive down the ground to pick up four.
Unable to score off the following ball, Raees turned the tables by cleaning Vince up with the final ball of his over. Vince had been looking to play the ball through mid-wicket, but as the ball came back into the right-hander he ended up playing all-round it and his stumps lit up behind him as the ball snuck in between his bat and pad.
Raees ran down the wickets with his arms outstretched in celebration before stopping and folding his arms as his teammates ran in to congratulate him. He held the pose for a few seconds before embracing his teammates.
Raees continued to bowl well in his next over, conceding just three runs from it before being taken out of the attack until the 13th. Bowling the last over of the innings, he dismissed Shoaib Malik with a low full toss to restrict Karachi to 173-7. Raees finished with figures of 2026 off his four overs.
