Watch: Rashid Khan hit a massive six off Tom Curran in the Pakistan Super League, playing the helicopter shot in a destructive lower-order cameo.
Coming in during the 17th over for Lahore Qalandars, Rashid set about playing a useful hand at the back end of the innings. With Sikandar Raza teeing off at the other end, Rashid matched him blow for blow in a lower-order blitz.
He hit his second ball for four off Hasan Ali before getting a single to put Raza on strike. Facing his sixth ball and with Tom Curran bowling, Rashid went huge. Playing a short-ish delivery wide of the off-stump on, Rashid swatted the delivery away well over the midwicket boundary. As the ball sailed high into the air, he finished the shot with a flourish, leaning back and facing square on at the crease.
While watching the ball fly 99 metres over the fence, he held his finishing pose for the cameras and circled his bat in the air, holding it vertically above his head.
Rashid hit another boundary in the following over, again off Hasan, before he was caught at backward square off the next delivery – again looking for the big shot.
Qalandars finished on 200-7 thanks to Raza’s cameo and Abdullah Shaffique’s 24-ball 45. Rashid again starred as they bowled Islamabad United out for 90, taking two wickets for just eight runs from his three overs. The final victory margin was a massive 110 runs, the equal second-biggest victory in PSL history.
