Watch: Rahmanullah Gurbaz was out in strange fashion in Islamabad United’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) clash with Quetta Gladiators, dismissed lbw after offering no shot to Naseem Shah.
Quetta Gladiators carried the momentum into their bowling effort, having recovered from 17-4 to pass 170 thanks to half-centuries from Mohammad Nawaz and Najibullah Zadran and a blistering cameo from Umar Akmal.
Naseem Shah took the new ball and struck within two balls. His first delivery was a peach, screaming back into the Afghanistan batter, who left alone. Gurbaz came closer to playing at the next ball, walking across his stumps and fiddling at the ball before pulling his bat out of the way.
Naseem struck him flush on the pad and appealed hard, with the umpire taking little time in raising the finger. However, Gurbaz indicated he felt the ball was sliding down the leg-side and reviewed instantly.
Replays showed he had lost his bearings somewhat, with the ball projected to crash into the top of middle stump, giving Quetta Gladiators an early breakthrough.
