The West Indies all-rounder caught the ball at full stretch with his foot inches from the rope, before throwing the ball in the air as he stepped over to regain his balance before pouching it comfortably again inside the boundary. He even did a forward roll in celebration.

It came in an explosive final over from Anwar Ali that started with a wide and featured three sixes and a four either side of Pollard’s spectacular catch.

The 35-year-old had taken another catch earlier in the game, which he also celebrated jovially with a dance for the crowd. He enjoyed himself slightly less when bowling, as his two overs were hit for 26.

Peshawar piled on 242-6 in their 20 overs thanks to a brilliant 73 from Babar Azam, his third 50-plus score in as many games, and an explosive 38 at the close from Tom Kohler-Cadmore.
