Watch: Babar Azam produced a stunning straight drive off 20-year-old tearaway quick Ihsanullah in Peshawar Zalmi’s Pakistan Super League clash with Multan Sultans in Rawalpinidi.

The Pakistan skipper gave himself a touch of room before thumping a 151kph length ball straight back at the bowler, who could only watch as the ball burst through him and flew straight of mid off to the boundary.

Ihsanullah went short again with his next ball, but Babar stood tall and swatted it authoritatively in front of square for another boundary.

It came as the 28-year-old brought up his fastest ever PSL fifty – from just 24 balls – the first time he has got there from fewer than 30 deliveries, before eventually being dismissed for 73 from just 39 balls.

Babar has been in starling form in recent weeks, scoring 115 and 50 in his previous two knocks. Only his international opening partner Mohammad Rizwan, who is captaining and keeping wicket for the Sultans, has scored more runs in this year’s PSL.
