PSL 2025 live updates

Welcome to Wisden's live coverage of the PSL 2025 draft held in Lahore – follow all the latest updates of the event, including news, real-time list of players picked by each Pakistan Super League team.

The tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League will be held between April 8 and May 19. The much-awaited PSL draft will finalise the squads of the six participating teams.

This year the venue for the event has seen a last-minute change due to logistical issues. Initially planned in the port city of Gwadar in Pakistan’s largest province Balochistan, the PSL 2025 draft will now take place at Huzoori Bagh in Lahore from 1:10 pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST).

The initial Platinum category list includes many renowned international names, such as David Warner, Chris Lynn, Usman Khawaja, Matthew Short, Kane Williamson and Tim Southee. Emerging talent Cooper Connolly, who earned his maiden call-up in Australia’s Test squad for their Sri Lanka tour, also features in the Platinum ranks.

Lahore use RTM for Sam Billings, Islamabad respond by getting Van der Dussen

Islamabad United picked England's Sam Billings as their second Supplementary pick but Lahore Qalandars decided to match.

Kiwi cricketers shine in the Platinum round of the PSL 2025 Draft

New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell opened the PSL 2025 draft by going to Lahore Qalandars in the first pick of the day. Mitchell and his band of compatriots have been the biggest talking point from the opening round of the PSL draft.

Mitchell was brought in to shore up the Qalandars middle-order as mentioned by Shaheen Afridi in attendance. Meanwhile, Mark Chapman will feature for Quetta Gladiators in his maiden PSL campaign.

Michael Bracewell, with 27 T20Is under his belt, joined Multan Sultans. Fast bowler Adam Milne was picked by Karachi Kings while explosive top-order batter Finn Allen will be seen in Quetta Gladiators' colours.

Ironically enough, there was no room for former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson in the opening round of the PSL draft.

In their second choice, Gladiators picked Mark Chapman of New Zealand.

"David Warner coming to PSL is a big thing and his coming to Karachi Kings is even bigger," said his soon-to-be teammate Shan Masood.
