Welcome to Wisden's live coverage of the PSL 2025 draft held in Lahore – follow all the latest updates of the event, including news, real-time list of players picked by each Pakistan Super League team.
The tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League will be held between April 8 and May 19. The much-awaited PSL draft will finalise the squads of the six participating teams.
This year the venue for the event has seen a last-minute change due to logistical issues. Initially planned in the port city of Gwadar in Pakistan’s largest province Balochistan, the PSL 2025 draft will now take place at Huzoori Bagh in Lahore from 1:10 pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST).

The initial Platinum category list includes many renowned international names, such as David Warner, Chris Lynn, Usman Khawaja, Matthew Short, Kane Williamson and Tim Southee. Emerging talent Cooper Connolly, who earned his maiden call-up in Australia’s Test squad for their Sri Lanka tour, also features in the Platinum ranks.

Sean Abbott joins Quetta Gladiators
Australia's Sean Abbott, who has played over 180 T20 matches, is set to join Quetta Gladiators.
Lahore use RTM for Sam Billings, Islamabad respond by getting Van der Dussen
Islamabad United picked England's Sam Billings as their second Supplementary pick but Lahore Qalandars decided to match.
"Sam was an integral part of the Qalandars winning squad and he's hugely popular among the fans so I'm excited to see him back with Qalandars," says the owner of the two-time PSL champions.
As a result, United welcomed back South Africa's Rassie van der Dussen who was one of the standout batters of PSL last season.
Kane Williamson can breathe a sigh of relief
Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will partner David Warner and Shan Masood after getting picked up by Karachi Kings in the Supplementary round of PSL 2025 draft.
Alzarri Joseph goes to Peshawar Zalmi
West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph is headed to Peshawar.
Quetta Gladiators pick Kusal Mendis
The wicket-keeper from Sri Lanka will join Gladiators for PSL 2025.
Johnson Charles returns to Multan Sultans
Sultans will welcome back fearless Caribbean opener Johnson Charles.
"We wanted an opener to partner Mohammad Rizwan but when we looked at the stats, we found that Johnson Charles was the best option. He was better than David Warner, Evin Lewis and the likes. We knew we had to get him to late so we were hoping he'd be available in the Supplementary round and we're glad it worked out," says the Multan Sultans owner.

Third Shah brother goes to Multan Sultans
Ubaid Shah, brother of Naseem and Hunain, gets picked up by Multan Sultans in the Emerging category.
Islamabad United get Hunain Shah
Hunain Shah, brother of fast bowler Naseem, returns to the PSL champions' roster. The two brothers will be playing alongside each other in PSL 2025.
Karachi Kings sign Fawad Ali in Emerging round
Fawad Ali returns to Karachi Kings. Although he didn't get a game last season, Kings seemed determined to get him back.
Josh Little and Kyle Jamieson to feature in PSL 2025
Ireland's Josh Little is back at Multan Sultans while New Zealand all-rounder Kyle Jamieson got picked up by Lahore Qalandars.

America's Andries Gous to feature in PSL 2025
Defending champions Islamabad United have picked up USA wicket-keeper Andries Gous in the silver round.
Sultans use RTM for Tayyab Tahir
Lahore Qalandars thought they had their man in Tayyab Tahir but Multan Sultans decided to match that trade and bring him back in.
Qalandars went for Asif Ali as their backup option instead.

Nahid Rana attracts interest
The Bangladesh fast bowler who impressed in the Test series against Pakistan got roped in by Peshawar Zalmi.

The PSL 2021 champions have added express pacer Mohammad Hasnain to the squad while Kamran Ghulam leaves Lahore Qalandars to join the Multan Sultans.
Fittingly enough, Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem announced the gold draft picks for Multan Sultans.

Mohammad Ali rounds up the Diamond round
Stressing on the need for a fast bowler, Peshawar Zalmi picked up Mohammad Ali in the final Diamond round pick of the PSL 2025 draft. Ali was the second-highest wicket-taker of PSL 9.
Islamabad United pick Jason Holder
West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder will join the defending champions Islamabad United. "A big part of our job is looking how we can improve and we looked at the quality of players available in the draft and tried to dig down deeper and work to get better," said Mike Hesson of United.
Khushdil Shah opens the Diamond round
In the first Diamond pick of the PSL 2025 draft, Khushdil Shah was picked by Karachi Kings. Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi drafted Corbin Bosch of South Africa.
Kiwi cricketers shine in the Platinum round of the PSL 2025 Draft
New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell opened the PSL 2025 draft by going to Lahore Qalandars in the first pick of the day. Mitchell and his band of compatriots have been the biggest talking point from the opening round of the PSL draft.
Mitchell was brought in to shore up the Qalandars middle-order as mentioned by Shaheen Afridi in attendance. Meanwhile, Mark Chapman will feature for Quetta Gladiators in his maiden PSL campaign.
Michael Bracewell, with 27 T20Is under his belt, joined Multan Sultans. Fast bowler Adam Milne was picked by Karachi Kings while explosive top-order batter Finn Allen will be seen in Quetta Gladiators' colours.
Ironically enough, there was no room for former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson in the opening round of the PSL draft.

Abbas Afridi is the final Platinum pick
Abbas Afridi goes to Karachi Kings who pick their third Platinum choice of this PSL 2025 draft. He is the final player in this round.

Michael Bracewell becomes the third BlackCaps cricketer of the day to get picked and he will head to Multan.
Peshawar Zalmi match Quetta Gladiators' Platinum 3 pick
Quetta Gladiators picked England batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore but it was matched by Peshawar Zalmi. Kohler-Cadmore has been with Zalmi since 2021.
In their second choice, Gladiators picked Mark Chapman of New Zealand.
David Warner to join Karachi Kings!
Karachi Kings pick up David Warner for the second Platinum choice of the day. This will be the decorated Australian opener's first season in the Pakistan Super League.
"David Warner coming to PSL is a big thing and his coming to Karachi Kings is even bigger," said his soon-to-be teammate Shan Masood.
Daryl Mitchell becomes the first pick of the day!
Lahore Qalandars pick Daryl Mitchell for the Platinum category to bolster their middle-order.
Mitchell has scored 1411 runs in 70 matches at an average of 26.62 and has a strike rate close to 140.
