The 2022 version of the PSL is set to take place in January and February 2022 – here’s a look at the English players currently signed up to play in the tournament.

Numerous England internationals have turned out in the PSL in recent years and that trend is set to continue in 2022. After the end of the window for retentions in December 2021, it was announced that four capped England internationals were signed up for the tournament.

List as of December 11, 2021

Alex Hales – Islamabad United

T20 globetrotter Hales has been retained by Islamabad after playing for them in the last edition of the PSL – four knocks resulted in 139 runs at an average of 34.75 and strike rate above 170. In 2020, Hales helped Karachi Kings to the title.

Joe Clarke – Karachi Kings

Notts batter Clarke, regularly cited as one of the best uncapped players in England, made his PSL debut in 2021 and demonstrated his power with 121 runs in four knocks while striking at 175.36. Karachi opted to retain him after those performances.

Liam Livingstone – Peshawar Zalmi

The in-demand all-rounder made his Peshawar Zalmi debut back in February 2020 and has since gone on to become a first-choice pick in T20Is for England after a stand-out home summer in 2021.

Saqib Mahmood – Peshawar Zalmi

The fast bowler has been retained after impressing for Zalmi since he was signed for the final stages of the 2020 season: six matches have seen him take 15 wickets at an average of 12.40.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore – Peshawar Zalmi

The Yorkshire batter has been retained after making four appearances for Zalmi in the 2021 edition and hitting 113 runs at an average of 28.25 and strike rate of 121.50. Cadmore remains uncapped for England.

James Vince – Quetta Gladiators

Vince turned out for champions Multan Sultans in the last edition of the PSL, hitting 174 runs at an average of 34.80 and a strike rate of 135.93.
