Watch: Shaheen Shah Afridi produced a stunning new-ball over to dismiss Jason Roy and James Vince in successive deliveries for Lahore Qalandars against Quetta Gladiators in the PSL.
Six days after his blistering 116 off 57 balls, also against Lahore Qalandars, Roy was strangled down the leg side as a Shaheen short ball rose higher than he expected. The opener was unhappy with the decision to give him out, but didn’t review and trudged off for a two-ball duck.
The Lahore captain was typically expressive in his celebrations of Roy’s wicket, but managed to compose himself to clean bowl James Vince through the gate with his very next delivery, a delicious inswinging full ball. Shaheen’s opening over left Quetta Gladiators reeling on 1-2.
Quetta Gladiators never fully recovered, posting 141-7 from their 20 overs, and yet another half-century from Fakhar Zaman saw Lahore Qalandars to victory.
