Watch: Naseem Shah celebrated his 19th birthday in style with a scorching delivery that uprooted Liam Livingstone’s off-stump during the PSL 2022 match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators.

Naseem, whose fiery raw pace saw him get fast-tracked into the Pakistan Test team in 2019, had already accounted for Hazratullah Zazai off the first delivery of his day. Livingstone, Zalmi’s No.3, had successfully negotiated his opening two deliveries (one of which was a free-hit) when Naseem fired in a 144kph (90mph) delivery. The ball, pitched on a length and angling in, shot past Livingstone’s bat and crashed into his off-stump, leaving him with a three-ball duck.

Livingstone has been among the headlines in the past few days, having secured a bumper INR 11.5 crore IPL deal with Punjab Kings, the most expensive overseas purchase of the 2022 auction.

Naseem began his PSL season with a five-wicket haul against Karachi Kings, although he picked just one wicket in five games thereafter.

Currently, Zalmi sit second bottom in the points table, having won three out of their seven games, with Gladiators one place above, having won the same number of games with a better net run-rate.
