Sony Sports has received a barrage of criticism after they switched the coverage on television from the England – New Zealand Test match to the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Sony Ten 1 had been showing the live coverage of the second Test between England and New Zealand that began today. However, at 06:30 PM IST, it switched the coverage to the PSL game between Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings, leaving subscribers displeased.
Sony has Sony Ten 1, Sony Ten 2, Sony Ten 3, Sony Ten 4, and Sony Six channels for sports with the Sony Six channel dedicated to Cricket and NBA.
People who paid for the channel to watch the Test match will now have to follow the match on their live streaming platform, Sony Liv. Incidentally, none of the other channels are showing live coverage of any sport.
Users will now have to subscribe separately to watch the match on the app. Those who aren’t on the app but paid for a TV subscription have been left in the cold.
With the Euro Cup slated to begin tomorrow, there’s additional football coverage leading to the clash.
Wisden.com reached out to Sony for comment but at the time of writing are yet to receive a response.

@TRAI please take action against @SonyLIV for charging a particular fee for a tournament and not showing it fully and forcing customers to see what they don’t want.eg-psl

I subscribed to @SonySportsIndia Sony Six to watch Eng v Nz during 1st test.. Only to find out they switched 2nd test to Sony Ten 1 while playing highlights of some football match on sony six… And now they completely switch off the match from Sony Ten 1…wow

That’s such a shame…. There are soo many fans who wish to watch Test Cricket. Also makes no sense telecasting highlights or some other program when there is live sport on. Debate about channels being paid per view is another huge #shame @SonySportsIndia
