Toronto Nationals get a walkover
Having finished the league stage as table-toppers, the Montreal Tigers advanced to the final after the first Qualifier against Brampton Wolves was washed out due to rain.
On the other hand, the fourth-placed Toronto Nationals were given a walkover after Bangla Tigers Mississauga allegedly refused to play a Super Over in the rain-hit Eliminator, before they beat Brampton Wolves in the second qualifier by five wickets.
Coincidentally, bad weather played a spoilsport the last time these two sides met in the 12th match of the competition. Two overs were bowled in a rain-curtailed match before play was called off.
Can Montreal Tigers cap off brilliant season with a title?
The Tigers have been the best side in the competition. The second-highest run-scorer, Dilpreet Bajwa (206), and the leading wicket-taker, Junaid Siddique, who has 13 scalps to his name, are on their side.
However, the Nationals captain, Colin Munro, will fancy their chances with plenty of star performers, such as Romario Shepherd, the second-highest wicket-taker (12), and Naveen-ul-Haq, among others.
