Here, Wisden brings you the latest betting odds for the 2024 GT20 Canada Eliminator between Bangla Tigers Mississauga and Toronto Nationals.
2024 GT20 Canada Eliminator: Who will win?
Having finished third and fourth in the points table, there is not much between these two teams. The Tigers won four of their seven matches, and the Nationals won three. However, the Nationals have won only one of their last five matches while the Tigers have won three. Recent form is on the Tigers' side.
These teams met in the eighth match of the tournament on July 30. It was a thrilling game, as Toronto ended up falling short by just two runs in pursuit of 169 for victory. Nicholas Kirton was the star that day, with a knock of 74 off 54 balls.
As expected, the Tigers are down as favourites on Stake, with odds of 1.75. But given how evenly matched these sides look, backing the underdogs Toronto may not be the worst choice at odds of 2.10.
Who will be the team with the best batter?
As far as run-scoring goes, the Tigers have the top two among players on either side of this match-up – Iftikhar Ahmed with 124 and Rahmanullah Gurbaz with 115 through the tournament. For the Nationals, Nicholas Kirton is the top-scorer so far with 114 runs and Unmukt Chand second with 104.
However, Toronto's Rassie van der Dussen is the clear choice for the best batter, priced at 2.40 on Stake to top the runs. As an opener, Gurbaz is a decent choice at 3.15, while for the more adventurous Iftikhar Ahmed at 7.25 could be a tempting choice.
Who will be the team with the best bowler?
Toronto's Junaid Siddique is the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 12 so far, and is priced at 3.80 on Stake. Three bowlers on his own team would yield lower returns, so this could be a relatively good bet. A solid option from the Tigers is USA international pacer Ali Khan, priced at 4.50 on Stake.
Who will have the highest opening stand?
With Stake, the Tigers are at odds of 1.80 to have the highest opening partnership, while Toronto are priced at 1.85. This is more or less a toss-up, and so it could make sense to back the Nationals for the marginally higher reward. Colin Munro and Unmukt Chand have also been a more consistent pairing than the Tigers' openers, who have been chopped and changed.
