Defending a modest total of 177, Ravi Bishnoi spun India back into the game, reducing Bangladesh to 65-4 from 50-1 with three quick scalps. During the 17th over, a loopy delivery from Bishnoi just outside off took an inside edge of Shahadat Hossain’s bat and rolled back towards wicketkeeper Jurel. Seeing the batter short of his crease, Jurel was quick to dislodge the bails with one hand. As a result of his lightning fast reaction, he drew comparisons with his idol MS Dhoni.

“That is out of the MS Dhoni Book of Awareness,” summed up commentator Alan Wilkins as Jurel was ecstatic before joining his team in celebration.

Although India lost the match, the world took notice of Jurel’s sharp reflex behind the wicket.

Recently rewarded with his maiden Test berth for India against England, Jurel is a regular gloveman with a stellar first-class record. From 15 games, he averages 46.47 with the highest score of 249.
